I usually don’t read posts in Pinkvilla (I’m there for the pics lol) but this caught my attention.
And hey, YOU might have some suggestions. :)
I’ll try not to be too much of a fangirl on this one. haha. These are also observations of an outsider coz, heck, i’m not even Indian so let’s just discuss ok? Also, i kinda agree with most of what was already posted there but here it goes:
- bring in new blood please! i know everybody loves these ‘older’ stars (i’ll try my best not to mention any names) but they’re getting pretty predictable sometimes. i’m a fan but i wanna see new blood who can REALLY act.
- what’s with the skimpy outfits and shirt off mode? old bollywood movies didn’t have those but still, they clicked. ok i guess the so-called item number can have that but it’s not really a necessity for every movie. why don’t they focus more on the script or acting.
- it’s high time the industry extends the shelf-life of their actresses! i’m kinda tired of seeing 40+ actors romancing 20+ actresses. i know Bollywood is fantasy and all that but you gotta be realistic sometimes. it’s so crazy that a 30-year old actress is already considered a senior in the industry but a 40+ actor can still romance an actress half his age. that’s like unfair. i wanna see more middle-aged actresses, married or not, still doing their thing (again, not mentioning any names lol).
- their salary. the highest paid actor gets more or less 20 crores and the highest paid actress gets only 6 crores? ‘nuff said.
- their songs. gone are they days when the lyrics are straight Hindi. today’s generation are introduced to Hinglish songs. i miss the old one. :(
- star kids. oookay filmi families are gonna be there forever and so will the star kids. i’m not saying these kids don’t deserve a chance in the industry but please PLEASE pretty please.. make sure you can really act before you enter the industry.
- stop trying to look so westernized. people loved the industry because of what it is. i think one issue here is the length of their movies. well, I’ve seen Bollywood movies which are 3 hours long and i didn’t even notice that I’ve spent 3 hours of my day on this film. meaning.. if you can’t shorten your film, just make sure the it the audience won’t be disappointed.
- what else? i think i’ll still update this post later.
- any thoughts? :)
